 WIU Students Recognized at GLACURH Conference

MACOMB, IL -- The Western Illinois University student delegation, representing University Housing and Dining Services (UHDS) at WIU, was recently recognized at Great Lakes Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (GLACURH) conference.


Students from WIU's Inter-Hall Council and Caroline E. Grote Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary were recognized for their contributions:


Emily Sikes, a junior nursing major from Macomb, was awarded Student of the Year.


Jordan Rouse, a senior history major from Macomb, was awarded a Golden Oar Pin.


The WIU delegation included Rouse (NRHH - Communications Coordinator); Joanna Lee (IHC Communications Coordinator), a junior agriculture major from Chicago; Khyla Whitelaw, a sophomore forensic chemistry major from Broadview; Daniela Garcia-Perez, a junior law enforcement and justice administration major from Round Lake Beach; Isabella Harp, a freshman mid-level education major from Earlville; and Sikes.


Advisors to the delegation are Assistant Director of Residence Life Greta Dieter and Assistant Complex Director Bryce McGeorge.


"We are extremely proud of our students. The group came together for the first in person conference since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and represented Western and University Housing at the regional level while making new connections," said Director of Student Life Jessica Butcher.
