In view of the current and on-going extraordinary context linked to the pandemic and, in particular, the ongoing existing difficulties to travel between certain UEFA member associations, the specific and rigorous process, which was used throughout the past season and the qualification phase of this seasons’ UEFA club competitions, will also be applicable for the relevant stages of the 2021/22 season as well.

This will allow the UEFA administration to closely monitor any potential travel and quarantine restrictions and obligations throughout Europe. In this context, on 30 August 2021, the UEFA Executive Committee approved the following regulations: Annex J for the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League group stages; Annex I for the UEFA Women’s Champions League; and Annex E for phase 1 of the UEFA Youth League:

UEFA Champions League Annex J

UEFA Europa League Annex J

UEFA Europa Conference League Annex J

UEFA Women’s Champions League (to be published on UEFA.com in the coming days)

UEFA Youth League Annex E

As was the case last season, Annex J, Annex I and Annex E establish special rules that are applicable to the relevant stages of the respective competitions due to the impact of COVID-19, while also clarifying the consequences and responsibilities concerning the organisation of matches in case of potential travel restrictions, as well as the consequences related to positive COVID-19 test results within the framework of the UEFA testing programme.
