Syracuse University, Laurel Springs School Launch New Dual-Enrollment Options for High School Students

 

 

Leading online private K-12 school provides new academic opportunities to students through dual enrollment with top-rated private university

WEST CHESTER, Pa. and OJAI, PRNewswire/ -- Laurel Springs School, a leader in online K-12 education, and Syracuse University, a nationally ranked, private research university located in New York State, today announced a partnership that will provide dual-enrollment options for students who seek to challenge themselves academically and accelerate their college preparation through online,

 university-level courses that blend synchronous and asynchronous learning. Facilitated through Syracuse University's Pre-College Program within University College, dual-enrollment courses span eight weeks and will be available in fall, spring, and summer terms, beginning in March 2021.

Through its partnership with Syracuse University, Laurel Springs plans to offer enrolled students several multidisciplinary courses that will be delivered online and incorporate synchronous discussion with professors and undergraduate students, including:

  • Introduction to Computing Systems
  • Global Leadership
  • Living Writers
  • The Natural Environment
  • Probability and Statistics for the Liberal Arts
  • Social Psychology

In addition to collaboration with professors, college students, and like-minded peers, Laurel Springs students who pursue dual enrollment with Syracuse University have the benefits of demonstrating success in high-level academics and earning extra weight in their grade-point average calculations. Students can also sharpen their critical thinking skills and potentially earn college credit while saving on future higher education costs.
