MIT commemorates the 150th anniversary of the first female student at MIT

The women’s entrepreneurial ride at MIT began in 1870, when Ellen Henrietta Swallow first set foot on campus as an “experimental student.” Some 30 years later, she grew to become the 2nd president of the MIT Women's Association, equipped with her assist "to promote higher fellowship amongst Institute women.” In the years since, the immeasurable contribution of MIT’s female to innovation and entrepreneurship has spanned the globe.

This month, MIT commemorates the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the first woman scholar at MIT with Women’s Entrepreneurship Month at MIT, a occasion of woman entrepreneurs at the Institute.
